On my recent visit to Thailand I found that just before I left I was forgetting something vital and without which could tantamount to a very uncomfortable holiday. One is always in need of direct contact with electrical appliances and taking the right electrical accessories is paramount to making this trip as memorable as possible for the right reasons. The most obvious reason being that the electrical supply in Thailand differs greatly from the UK, therefore if, like me, you are taking a few essential supplies then you adaptor.
Buying do, region. adaptors are suitable for multiple countries and can in fact be a money saver for those looking not to spend so much money on electrical accessories. However, most of these can be bought from the airports at a much higher price, making it more worthwhile for you to purchase it beforehand rather than leaving it to chance.
The common things that you will use the adaptors for are your mobile phone, hairdryer, hair strengtheners, shaving equipment, travel lamps, musical equipment or travel iron. Some electrical appliances already have a built in adaptor. it in a country that uses a different voltage, however always read the manual to double check if you can use it without a converter.
Whilst adaptors do not change the voltage, they do change the plug shape and therefore differ from converters which sometimes are needed to change the voltage. It is better to be safe than coming face-to-face with a potential risk.
Depending on what else you will be using, most basic electrical devises do not need anything extra such a surge protector. This is normally used for laptops used. are available for use to prevent voltage spikes. However, some devices will already have a built in power protector allowing for just the use of an adaptor.
Other electrical accessories are not always necessary unless the device you intend to use contains important information. In this case getting advice from the manufacturer or researching the instructions in the manual will help better prepare you for what you will need to pack.
